Class Sizes – Maximum of 20

The school’s human-scale size – no more than 100 pupils, aged between 10 and 17 – puts relationships at the heart of school experience.  Each year group has one class in which will never be more than 20 students. The average class size will probably be around 10-15.  Everybody is  familiar with each other in a warm, friendly environment. Teacher-student relationships are stronger and more individual attention can be given. Everyone’s voice can be heard in school meetings. Teachers can work together on the curriculum and know every students’ progress, academic and pastoral.  Special educational needs can be met more readily. We believe this scale is more appropriate for children’s learning needs than the current industrial secondary model.
